MANILA, Philippines—There are plenty of ways to generate funds without depending too much on the Philippine Sports Commission. Olympic chief Jose Cojuangco Jr. said the Philippine Olympic Committee has opened exploratory talks with a top television network in a bid to help national sports associations fend for themselves. |

PHILIP Joshua Endrinal from SM Megamall grabbed the top spot in the Basic Male category with a total of 19 points to lead the winners of the Skate Manila 2008 at the SM Mall of Asia International Skating Rink. A total of 243 Filipino participants, together with five Malaysian skaters and one from Taipei joined, vying for the gold in their respective categories. |

Yesterday, I was at the Mall of Asia to familiarize myself with the rink just before the competition kicks in. I arrived at around 12pm and the rink was crowded with skaters from Southmall, Megamall, and of course Mall of Asia. Most of the coaches I've seen from Megamall are there. And there were hockey players too. Plus the public skaters. All-in-all, I couldn't do a complete rountine without the worries of stumbling into a kid or three. |
